Range Rover Evoque Review

The Range Rover Evoque turned heads when it went on sale back in 2011 and has been a massive hit for Land Rover. Such was the demand when it first launch that waiting lists were months and months long. And it’s not hard to see why.

Following a restyle earlier this year, and a few subtle tweaks to the anticipated new 2016 launch model, it is now one of the most fashionable cars on the road today…and this popularity means rock-solid residual values.

With a unique blend of style, performance, economy and on and off-road ability, the Evoque compact SUV is currently the smallest Range Rover on the market and is a very well-rounded machine. The baby of the range commands a premium price tag, yet with the lowest running costs in the Range Rover line up, it promises much better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions than the old 2.2-litre diesel engine – with road tax coming down to just £20 a year as a result.

With such impressive stats, the Evoque is a very attractive option for those contractors looking to finance their company car through their limited company, as the P11D benefit in kind is significantly better than it has been. Another consideration, is that many contractors prefer to personally finance their vehicle and take a car allowance out of the company. The Evoque has a particularly strong future/residual value which means it will cost less per month than many other £40,000 vehicles.

Available both as a conventional and more practical five-door and sporty, sleeker three-door, the Evoque is powered by one of two all-aluminium engines, with the range kicked off by a 147bhp diesel. The only petrol engine in the range is a 240bhp turbocharged petrol which features ‘Active Driveline’; disconnecting power to the rear wheels to save fuel when cruising.

Inside boasts a quality build, with the latest safety technology, a large display screen for its InControl infotainment setup and a clever off-road cruise control system that scans the terrain ahead and keeps the car moving over rough ground at a slow, steady pace. Choosing the optional panoramic sunroof floods the interior with light and is worth the investment as an extra.

Like all Land Rovers, the Evoque comes with a three-year unlimited mileage warranty and a six-year anti-corrosion warranty. You also get a three-year roadside assistance package.

I switched over to QAccounting a few months ago and haven't looked back. I get to speak to my own client manager and accountant, the prices were the best I had seen, and I paid exactly what it said online (no extra costs). Very happy with QA.
